One of My Favorite Pictures of Eli

This picture was taken in 2011 at the Borders bookstore in Bangor, Maine. I forget what book I was looking for, when Eli, sitting in his stroller, picked a book off the shelf and opened it, pretending to read and just flipping pages. I asked him what it was he was "reading" and after I saw the title of the book, how could I not take a picture?

Christmas Cookies part 3

Here is Eli's contribution to the cookies the kids decorated for Santa. Note the angry face at the bottom. Eli says that one is a zombie. I made the face for him, but did not intend for the eyes to look angy.

Christmas Cookies part 1

Eli's gingerbread man. And yes, it is a zombie, just in case you were wondering. See the red eyes?

Christmas 2009 Pictures!!!

We went to Picture People in the Deptford Mall today (big frickin' mistake that was, but that's another story for another time) and had our Christmas pictures taken! While we were waiting for the pictures to "develop", we went and got the kids' picture taken with Santa (he looks sleepy, but I guess it was near the end of his shift). Here are the pics. Enjoy!!!

First Boy in...How Many Years? part 1

Eli is the first boy to be born to Tiff's side of the family in 46 years. He's the first boy to be born to my side of the (immediate) family in a long time, too (not sure of the exact count, but it's gotta be a while. I guess I should try to figure it out).

Here's the proud Grandma and Grandpa with Eli while he was still in the hospital:

And here is his Auntie Ashlie holding him after we got to take him home:

Here is Eli's cousin, Mya:

and great-grandmother, Lois, holding him while he was still in the hospital:

Too Much...

This is Eli after about four cups of black coffee. Just kidding. He wasn't really drinking coffee; this was after he drank a 2-litre (<---note the sophisticated European spelling) bottle of Mountain Dew.

Baby Smiles

Gotta love them baby smiles (or, smirks, as it were)!!!

Stay Puft Marhsmallow...Baby?

One of Kenzie's favorite movies is Ghost Busters. We were watching the movie one day and I thought I saw Eli. Yes, I think Eli was in the movie. Turns out he wasn't, but there did seem to be a strong resemblance. Check it out. You be the judge.

First, we have a picture from Ghost Busters:

Next we have the picture I made so you can see the resemblance:

Cut From the Same Cloth

Here is a pic of Eli and Kenzie. I was holding Eli and trying to snap a few pics of him while he was being quiet and of course my daughter couldn't help trying to get in on the picture. I have a few that I took with the both of them, but this one is my favorite because they're both looking the same way. I tried to get her not to smile but that didn't work. It's like telling a kid not to pee in a pool; you know they're going to do it just because you said not to.

Aliens!!!

Babies always look like little aliens when they're born. Eli was no exception. Neither was your kid. Or you.

The Thinker...and The Pooper...

Eli seems awfully deep in thought in this picture. Either that or he's about to poop. Intellectual infants: silently unlocking the secrets of the universe while messing their diapers.

Meet Eli

Eli Presley Kovacs was born on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 10:22 am. He weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. Here is a picture of him about 3-5 minutes after he was born. You can head over to Andy's Pictures page for more pictures (I haven't posted any additional pictures yet) or you can read more about his birth on the Adventures of a New Dad page (again, nothing has been posted yet, but I should be able to post something soon if he gives me enough time to write something for it). Anyway, enjoy these pictures. And welcome to the world, Eli.

The Scream...?

Contrary to popular belief, Eli is yawning in this picture. He gets his entire body involved when he yawns. It's actually quite cute when he does it. He gets almost the same expression on his face when he's about to sneeze, too. Aren't babies cool?
